The playground at Sunshine Plaza brings the Sunshine Coast’s marine environment to life through a cohesive suite of bespoke play equipment spanning two imaginative worlds — above the water and below it. The commanding 7-metre pelican tower with tunnel slide anchors the Cornmeal Promenade as a landmark structure, its scale and character asserting a strong sense of place within the retail precinct. Below the surface, a playful submarine and interactive seal complete the design narrative, drawing children into a fully realised underwater realm. Every element was resolved as part of a unified design language — character-led, spatially considered, and purposefully crafted to elevate the family experience within the centre.
